The twelve women signed up for the hike and met up in Luray, Virginia. Here are some of the highlights of the hike.
The first day, we started at South River Falls Picnic Area and hiked 5.5 miles to Lewis Mountain Cabins. Day 2 we visited Hazel Top Mountain and Milam Gap and hiked 8.4 miles to Big Meadows Lodge. On the third day, we visited the Big Meadows Visitors Center before we started our 8.5 mile hike to Skyline Lodge. On our final day of hiking, we had lunch at Pinnacles Picnic Area and hiked a total of 7.4 miles and stayed our final night in Luray, Virginia. Before we headed to airport, we visited Luray Caverns. The trip will always be such a great memorable experience.

My trail name - Mamo because of the maladjustment of my
backpack straps.
I did start out day 1 with my backpack adjusted correctly and comfortably. A few days into our hiking, I started getting concerned about a couple of blisters on my feet. Each time I took my backpack off and on to tend to my feet, I would cinch my backpack even if it didn't need it. Once I got the blister band-aids in place on my feet and my dog were not barking any longer, one of the guides asked me if my backpack was comfortable. I looked down and realized I had a major problem. It was close to the end of the day and it was to late to worry to much about how it was accentuating parts of my anatomy. We laughed it off and decided it was to late in the day to make adjustments. I just carried on and made it back to the shuttle van. The next day my blisters were fine with the help of the band-aids and my backpack was readjusted and I had a great hike.
We were dropped off daily at the trailheads.
